Lim Wee Ling

Wee Ling is a curious, restless and versatile communicator. From starting out with in-house communications to diving into PR consultancy work, she brings authenticity and a balance of business interests and compassion into areas of strategic PR, media management, campaign conceptualisation and development.

Wee Ling’s first job in the government sector was sparked by personal interest. Her passion for Mother Nature got serious as she picked up the ropes of corporate communications through the setting up of the National Environment Agency, and public communications in handling local and bilateral issues including water, transboundary haze, dengue, and the SARS pandemic.

A plan to pursue further studies took a different turn, as she left the government sector and joined Singapore-based communications agency, Asia PR Werkz, in 2006. The agency is today one of Southeast Asia’s leading industry players.

Wee Ling rose through the ranks to become an owner-director of the company. While she lets her inner geek out as the agency’s Tech Lead, Wee Ling enjoys breaking new ground and defies the convention of teams limited by practice areas. She remains focused on developing impactful and effective campaigns for B2C and B2B clients across industries, such as corporate, entertainment, games, hospitality, lifestyle, popular culture, technology, to not-for-profits, to bridge brands with ever-evolving audience interests.

Her clients range from global MNCs to Singapore-based SMEs and start-ups. Wee Ling’s work has won industry-wide accolades on home ground and regionally, in the areas of Creative PR/Media relations, PR for NGOs, targeted community engagement, and Sports PR.

Wee Ling stays passionate about lending a voice to local causes and communities, and has developed numerous award-winning campaigns. She led the communications to promote understanding for the social service sector through the Outstanding Social Workers Award in 2019 and 2020, for older workers in the Re-employment of Older Workers legislation in Singapore, and for meaningful gifting in the Boys’ Brigade Sharity Gift Box (2006, 2007). She is also an Advisor of the Singapore Games Association since 2020.

When she’s not on her laptop, Wee Ling enjoys painting, good music, and chilling out with family and friends. She has an Honours Degree in Communication Studies, majoring in Electronic and Broadcast Media, from the Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.
